Join us every Tuesday evening (May through August) for a social bicycle ride through quiet Gastonia neighborhoods and the Avon Creek Greenway.
This ride is intended to be slow, social, and fun! Leave your carbon race bike and kit at home and put a few slow, easy miles on your hybrid, cruiser, vintage steel bike, etc., with the family.
This ride is intended to be slow, social, and fun! Leave your carbon race bike and kit at home and put a few slow, easy miles on your hybrid, cruiser, vintage steel bike, etc., with the family.
We will gather on the sidewalk in front of Ride-A-Bike Bicycle Shop at 6:10pm and start riding around 6:15. There is plenty of parking on Main Avenue. Additional parking is available behind the shop.
- Helmets are required.
- Observe and obey all traffic laws. As on any ride, you are ultimately responsible for your own safety.
- Lights are highly recommended. Please run them in solid mode (blinking is annoying in a group ride!)
- Be polite to those around you.
- Have fun!
- Be sure to ring your bell when passing other pedestrians, cyclists, etc!
- Smile!
- Yield to pedestrians.
- Slow down and give plenty of room when passing pedestrians on the greenway.
- Ring your bell!
- Please wear casual attire - this is not a race!
- Be alert, be predictable, watch for traffic, and stay to the right.
- Meet someone new. Learn their name. Ask questions. Look around.
- Have fun!
- When's the last time you (or someone else) performed a safety check on your bike?
