The 2014 Raleigh Tamland is an all-new gravel road bike that's also commuter ready.

The Tamland 2 comes with an Ultegra 6800 11-speed drivetrain and an FSA Energy cockpit.
Raleigh stocks TRP Spyre mechanic disk brakes on both the Tamland 1 and 2. The Spyre disc brakes, unlike most other mechanical disc brakes, are dual-piston, meaning both pads actuate simultaneously, making setup much easier. The Spyre is more than adequate for a gravel grinder who won't be burning through brake pads like a 'cross racer.
The Tamland's cables are routed externally on the downtube with brake housing that runs the length of the frame, keeping the maintenance low, while making it easier on home mechanics to replace cables and housings.
Both bikes come with the Spyre mechanical disc brakes, but the Tamland 1 comes equipped with a Shimano 105 groupset instead of the Ultegra 6800, with an FSA Gossamer compact 50/34 crankset. And both bikes come with KMAX Pro rims and Clement X'Plor MSO 40c tires.
The Tamland 1 and 2 could pull double-duty as commuters, tour rigs, entry-level cyclocross racers, or pit bikes. We will keep you updated as we know more! Raleigh says that we should expect the Tamland in winter of 2014.
